A Day in the Park

Rita and I decided to take a break and go down to Balboa Park. We wanted to go see a Senior Beauty Pagent being held there. But we got there too late to see it. So we joined the huge crowd of people enjoying the warm sunny day. Here are some of the things we did and saw.

We came across this vender who made these cute airplanes out of recycled soda cans, they were expensive to buy.

As we walked up into the park we saw this beautiful blossoming tree. Of course I had to take our picture under it.

We took this path which I had never taken before and come arcoss this beautiful unusual tree, with these roots that go beyond imagination.

This building was built back in the 1930's for the World Fair held her in San Diego at that time and they have keep it as a relick. It not to well made but is part of San Diego's history

We came across these street performers, playing and singing like robots. Rita took a video of their performance, you may get to see it on her blog.

We saw these little critters in one of the gift shops, they were colorful, so I took a picture of it.

Rita and I decided to go see the movie at The Ruben H. Fleet Science Center. It has an Imax theatre. We bought tickets to see two of the movies, but we had to pay for the Science Museum part of it too. I am acsending into the universe. We didn't have much time to spend in the science center part.

We came across this crazy looking fellow, but we couldn't convince him to come home with us.

After the park we went down to Old Town to have some good mexican food. They have a lot of Mexican restaurants there and you can watch the ladies working on making the tortillas.

It was so crowded everywhere, that we walked into the first restaurant that didn't look crowded. It wasn't a mexican restaurant, but it had mexican food on their menu. It was actually a Bistro and the mexican food was frenched up a little. Different, but it was still good. Just not real mexican food. But we were hungry.

This is a look of one of the other restaurants outdoor seating. It was still pretty festive looking.
