After getting out of the restaurant everyone was wishing well in my new adventure in Orem and a long life in my new home. After dinner I realized I had forgotten to get my temple bag out of the hall closet at my home, so Marcia drove us all the way back down there. I got my bag and we found a few other things we decided to take. Rita and I plan to leave early the next morning for Provo.

August 11 2009 Moving day, it's been a while coming, but it finally got here.

We are ready for the movers early this morning.

They got my couch wrapped with plastic in a hurry.

They start wrapping furniture right off with plastic to be loaded.

Here's the Wheaten moving truck right on time, they work out of Wisconsin. They have a good reputation as movers.

The guy wrapping plastic around the couch chair. They left half of one of their rolls at the house after they were through.

They hired this guy to come help them, he lives here in San Diego. He is loading boxes I had stacked in the hall and bedrooms upstairs.

They are filling up my stuff in the first part of the Wheaten moving truck, it will be interesting to see how they do it.

I got on the truck and took a picture of the driver and packer. He is a little guy, and been in the business for 25 years. The guys bring out the boxes and furniture and he orchestrates the packing, He is a master at it.

I took a look inside the Wheaten truck, this is the other end, lots of room in the truck. Mine will not be the only one on the truck.

My garage was filled with boxes, they had to prop up the garage door to get them out. The spring had broken on the doors and hadn't been workable for years. After I left, I had Mike across the street from me put in new garage doors. He is in the business. I was able to give him and his wife a Book of Mormon. They were great friends and helped me at times when Loren was sick, when I needed help.

The guys carry out about the last shelves. There was alot of stuff I left. Marcia had friends that is coming over to pick it up.

My little home already looks deserted. I haven't had time to take care of my flowers in my front yard, and they are all over grown. I wish I had time to fix it up.

It's hard to say goodbye to your home you have lived in for 38 years. There is lots of memories stored in these walls. Life is like a good book. The further you get into it, the more it begins to make sense. And life is not dated merely by years. Events are sometimes the best calendars.

August 9 - At Marcia's after Sunday dinner, getting my picture with all the great grand children.

I will miss Rebekah and Jordan as close neighbors. It was fun having them live so close to me. They invited me over for dinner many times.

Rachel is 9 years old, going on 10 in December. She is a great help to her mother and is enjoying school. Here she is enjoying dessert.

I got this darling picture of Caitlyn, she is a friend to everyone she meets.

Hannah was fussing and Marcia picked her up and started singing the song, "Popcorn popping on the Apricot Tree" she quieted right down to listen to it. She loves that song for some reason. She loves her grandma Marcia too.

I wanted to get a picture with all my little great grandchildren and tell each of the them goodbye for now and let them know how much I love each one of them. Here is the results. Nathan, "I'm sorry your going grandma Burrell, why are you moving?"

Hannah is looking at me like I'm not sure I know how you fit in here, but I want to know you better.

Rachel is a sweetheart and a loving g. grand daughter. It will be hard not to see these children very often.

Caitlyn was a snuggler and loving to her great grandma.

Eric wanted to wrestle with me.

I had a hard time getting Jacob sit long enough to get a picture with him. He is on the go so much it's hard to capture him.

Michelle and her little darling Hannah. She is growing up so fast.

Julia giving Hannah some loving attention.

Drew cousin to the family and wife Emily came down for a visit and brought Julia with them down from Provo.

Me with all of Marcia's family members. Children, their mates, grandchildren.

Rita comes down from Utah to help me with my last packing up of my house before moving. A farewell party was given to me.

Saturday Aug 8 2009 - My friend Gayle invited Ward member to a farewell party for me, this evening after working all day packing. It was a nice evening. It's so hard to say goodby to everyone, after knowing them so long.

This is myfriend Gayle with me. It was a nice party with a nice crowd in her back yard, the eveing was cool and nice and so was the food.

Here we are Marcia, me, and Rita together on this cool enjoyable evening.

The day before we went to the farewell party. The girls said, I couldn't keep my Christmas basket of pine cones. So into the car to be taken up to the D.I. truck. Oh well, someone else will enjoy them.

Out goes my little figurines to D.I. I am surprised they lasted so long and didn't get broken.

Marcia and Rita carring my old sewing maching out to the car to be taken up to the D.I. truck.

Here you can see all the pictures and the mirror on the wall to be taken down to be boxed up. We have are work cut out for us.

We finally got the mirror off the living room wall, it was a heavy sucker.

We got the mirror off the living room wall, and into the box, as you can see Rita is sweating, because it was heavy job.

We were trying to get all the pictures and mirror boxed up.

Marcia home, she invited us up for Sunday dinner. It was nice to be in her home and see every thing in order after this aray of my house.

Sunday afternoon, Rita deserved a rest.

Michelle came over with Nathan and Hannah to visit me before I moved.

Loren's picture on the wall in my bedroom, has to get packed for the move, he looks happy, I hope he knows where I'm going so he can come visit me sometimes.

July 29 - I opened Loren's old Army duffel bag, while Michelle & Nathan came to visit me, we tried Loren's old Air force jacket on Nathan, he has a few years before he will fill it out.

Michelle fits into Loren's old Air Force uniform rather nicely.

Michelle looks pretty good in Loren's old Air Force uniform. I let her have the jacket, she wanted it for costum. People are always trying to find clothes like that. I kept the hat.

This a model of the B24, that Loren was a waist gunner when he served in the Army Air Force in World ll.

This is July 30 th Marcia and Michelle came down together to help me and Michelle wanted some of my patio red bricks to take home. We stopped for lunch break and I ran over to get some Mexican food from Rancheo Villa.

Nathan loves bean burritos. Hannah tasted the hot sauce and wanted more.

We were joking around and wondered how Hannah would look with hair, so Michelle draped her long hair over her head, and this is the result.
