Sept 12 2009 Amy came down with girls and we went to the Pleasant Grove 5 th Annual Communty BBQ At their downtown city park, Theme "Hog Heaven"

Amy,Gabrielle & Lauren came down to spend the day with me. The girls brought in these squash from her garden. I made good use to them later in the week. We decided to go the the Pleasent Grove Community fair.

Amy and girls, we parked and went into the Culture Hall, where they had a big quilt display, and they ask us to vote on four of them we liked the best. So we had fun doing that. Even the girls got to vote.

This was a Christmas quilt, which I am sure was a lot of work.

The next day I read in the paper that this quilt won, one of the prizes at this city fair. The one that win was "Over the River and through the woods to Grandmother house we go. It was cute. But this one got my attention. I voted this one for first place.

When we got there they had this group playing the guitars and different ones singing. Later they gave out prize for something, people signed up for. We sat and listen to them awhile.

Amy and the girls look over the beads, notice Amy's reflection in the mirror.

They had these logs for familys to saw, they got to keep the round and decorate it. It looked fun, but we decided it was to much work.

He is showing the girls how the melted lead looks like. He explains it to Gabby.

There were lots of booths to buy stuff, this table intrigued Lauran and Gabrielle, but we passed on by.

A fellow had this log there for the kids to see who could pound their nail in the fastest. Gabby won, but each got a piece of candy.

Lauran was still pounding when the others had finished, but she got her prize a little candy bar.

Me with Gabby & Lauren, in the back ground you see more of the groups with their BBQ places going. Some were working all night. No one could buy any until the dinner which started at 5 pm. If you want any you had to wait til then. There is a group that judges them and the one who wins gets bragging rights for a year.

Here Amy and Lauran sit, Gabby took off to play with kids on the play ground, we watch her carefully, she was chasing a boy around having fun. We are sampling some little sweet cakes made by a Scandinvian group in the last picture.

Lauran had a hard time trying to decide what she wanted to eat, and finally decided to have this hot dog.

This was one of the contestants working on their meat. It was pork ribs.

Here comes the girl with our food, looks good to me, I was hungry by then. We didn't know if we got served some of the prize BBQ or not. But it was all good no matter who won the right to brag during next year.

We shared some of our ribs with Gabby. She had eaten other stuff and wasn't interested in trying to eat a plate of ribs.

Gabrielle took my camera and took this of Amy & I eating our Hog Heaven Pork BBQ.

Gabrielle entered this Hula Hoop contest. She is pretty good.

Before leaving the park they found this little doggie to lavish some love on.

We came home and Amy making a pie crust for a pie - see, next picture.

The end results, fresh peach pie from her tree at home. Nothing more delicious.
